No sugar or sweeteners added, this dessert is your dream cake. If you're diet and weight conscious you might want to try this inviting recipe with richberry. Just have one bite of richberry's miracle berry while you are baking. Once you're done, slice one.

Ingredients:

For the Crust

113 grams butter

180 grams flour

90 grams cream cheese

5 ml vanilla extract

For the Filling

950 ml blueberries

160 ml blueberry fruit spread

16 grams cornstarch

1 ml ground nutmeg

For the Glaze

15 ml sour cream

1 egg yolk

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 4250F.

Mix butter with flour to form a coarse crumb. Put in cream cheese into the mixture to create a dough. Blend in vanilla to the entire mixture.

On a floured surface, roll out ½ of the dough into an 11” circle. Line the dough into a 9” pie plate. Toss the blueberries and cornstarch into a medium-sized bowl.

Add fruit spread and nutmeg into the mixture and mix gently.

Pour the entire fruit mixture onto the pie crust.

Roll out the remaining dough to the 11” circle. Place it over the fruit mixture.

Make sure to turn the edges under and flute. Cut some slits on top of the crust to allow the steam to escape. Bake the pie for 10 minutes.

Remove the pie from the oven after and reduce oven temperature to 3500F.

Combine the egg yolk with sour cream. Brush lightly over the crust.

Return the pie to the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until done. Cool the pie on a wire rack.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.

There is a need to add sugar in desserts, if you wanted to push through with sweeteners and sugar to have the flavour that you want, you may also do so.
