A perfect treat for summer picnic trips. This tarty flavoured pie with a touch of tequilla is perfect with richberry's miracle berries. You don't need sugar all the time to make desserts yummier and tastier.
Ingredients:
24 graham crackers, crushed
¼ cup butter, melted
3 eggs, beaten
1 (14 ounce) can milk
½ cup lemon juice
6 tablespoons tequila
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
Directions:
Step 1 Mix graham cracker crumbs, and melted butter in a bowl.
Step 2 Press crumb mixture into an 8-inch pie dish to form a crust.
Step 3 Whisk eggs and milk together in large saucepan.
Step 4 Stir lemon juice and tequila into the egg mixture.
Step 5 Slowly bring egg mixture just to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
Step 6 Pour egg mixture into prepared pie dish.
Step 7 Whisk sour cream in a bowl until well mixed.
Step 8 Spoon sour cream mixture over lemon pie.
Step 9 Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Consume Miracle Berry:
Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.
Fact:
The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
Note: Sometimes you may need to add at least 5-7% of the total quantity of sugar required, this is due to the chemistry of the food, however, you may skip this as you wish. The goal is to totally reduce sugar and yet experience the same taste.
