richberry Salty Lime Soda

Writer: Maharlika LobatonMaharlika Lobaton

This citrusy and alcohol flavoured cocktail is hydrating to the nth power. With eating your miracle berry from richberry first before drinking this booze, you will be suprised of the sweet and nice flavour it magically appears to your mouth.

Ingredients:

6 fresh curry leaves

2 kafir lime leaves, cut into thin ribbons

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

2 ounces white rum

Ice cubes

1 cup club soda, chilled

Method:

Toast curry leaves in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant and dry, shaking pan often, about 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a shaker. Add lime leaves, and salt and muddle. Add lime juice, rum, and ice and shake vigorously. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with club soda. Serve.

Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.

Warning: Alcohols are for over 21 years of age and above. Drink responsibly, do not drink and drive.
