We remove all the sugar and sweeteners all the way. This cocktail drink is absolutely perfect with richberry. You don't need artificial sweeteners to take it all bottom's up.
Ingredients: For the Lemon Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
Peel of 1 lemon
For the Lemon Drop Margaritas:
4 cups ice
6 ounces fresh lemon juice
6 ounces tequila
1 ounce triple sec
salt for rim of glasses
Instructions:
Make the Lemon Syrup: In small saucepot, water and lemon peel over medium-high heat. Cook until all sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally (do not boil). Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes. Remove and discard lemon peel; transfer syrup to jar or bottle and refrigerate until completely cool. Makes about 8 ounces (enough for 8 margaritas).
Make the Lemon Drop Margaritas: Place ice, lemon juice, tequila, 4 ounces Lemon Syrup and triple sec in blender; blend until well combined. Divide between 4 glasses garnished with salt.
Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.
Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.
Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
Warning: Alcohols are for over 21 years of age and above. Drink responsibly, do not drink and drive.
