richberry Gringo Honeymoon

This is the kind of drink you can have during your sweet moments alone and/or having a karaoke, soaking in a tub or just having some private moment together. A blend of two of my favorite spirits, mezcal and rum, this recipe makes for a spicy yet sweet and refreshing swizzle. Using an overproof Jamaican rum, such as Smith & Cross, adds funky complex flavors and also strong boozy qualities. Which means this drink is quite strong to be perfectly sweet with richberry. Have a bit together with your richberry and stay sweeter all-throughout the moment of honeymoon.

Ingredients:

1 oz (30 ml) mezcal

½ oz (15 ml) overproof Jamaican rum

½ oz (15 ml) Faretti biscotti liqueur or amaretto

½ oz (15 ml) fresh orange juice

½ oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice

½ oz (15 ml) Ginger Syrup

Orange wedge, for garnish

Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Method:

In a cocktail shaker, combine the mezcal, rum, Faretti, orange juice, lemon juice and ginger syrup and dry shake. Pour into a highball glass with crushed ice and garnish with the orange wedge and freshly grated nutmeg.

Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.

Warning: Alcohols are for over 21 years of age and above. Drink responsibly, do not drink and drive.
