A lemon treat with the bites of Russian flavour and a twist. There is no sugar added into this cocktail, only richberry.
8 lemons, zested
3 cups vodka
2 quarts 2% reduced fat milk
Step 1 Combine lemon zest and vodka in an airtight container. Cover and place in a cool, dark space, shaking the container to redistribute the lemon zest once a day for 5 days.
Step 2 Pour milk into a large pot and bringing to a low boil, stirring often.. Remove from heat and allow milk mixture to cool to room temperature. Slowly strain vodka mixture into the milk using a sieve. Discard the lemon zest. Pour limoncello into a capped bottle and place in the freezer to chill for 1 hour. Serve cold.
Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.
Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.
Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
