Richberry Recipe: Red Currant Smoothie

What you need

  • ½ cup lemon (juice)

  • 8 oz red currants

  • 1 blood orange

  • 8 oz milk

  • 5 oz Greek yogurt

  • ice cubes

  • 4 red currant (for garnish)

  • ice cubes

How to make

  1. Rinse the currants, remove the stems and pat dry. Squeeze the orange. Place the lemon juice, currants, orange juice, milk, and yogurt in a blender and puree.

  2. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the smoothie on top.

  3. For garnish, rinse the currant clusters and roll in sugar. Gently set on top of the smoothies and serve.

Chew the Miracle Berry:

Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berries (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.


The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yogurt, and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.


For cakes and pastries, you may need to add at least 5-7% of the total quantity of sugar required. This is due to the chemistry of the food. However, you may skip this as you wish. The goal is to reduce sugar consumption but experience the same taste.
