Richberry Recipe: Dark Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

Whenever we can make chocolate an appropriate breakfast choice, we're all in.

Compliment this recipe with 1-2 halves of Richberry and you are in for the sweet ride - without the calories!

What you need

  • 2 cups frozen pitted dark cherries

  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup ice

  • 3 tablespoons hemp hearts

  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder

  • pinch of salt

  • 2 slices of lemon

  • 1-2 halves of Richberry

How to make

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until pureed.

  2. Chew 1-2 halves of Richberry.

  3. Top the smoothie with extra hemp heart sprinkles, another cherrie or two, a few shakes of the chai spice, and if desired, chocolate curls!

Chew the Miracle Berry:

Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berries (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.


The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yogurt, and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.


For cakes and pastries, you may need to add at least 5-7% of the total quantity of sugar required. This is due to the chemistry of the food. However, you may skip this as you wish. The goal is to reduce sugar consumption but experience the same taste.
