richberry Meyer Lemon Bourbon Smash

Writer: Maharlika LobatonMaharlika Lobaton

Try this cocktail with your friends. You may hangout on the pool or just simply sip it on a dinner table while relaxing before you sleep. Minus the use of sweeters or sugar, this cocktail drink is perfect with richberry's miracle berry.

Ingredients: For the richberry Vanilla Bean Syrup:

  • 1 vanilla bean, split in half lengthwise and scraped

  • 1 cup water

For the Meyer Lemon Bourbon Smash (1 cocktail):

  • 1/4-inch-thick slice of Meyer lemon

  • Ice

  • 2 ounces bourbon

  • 4 dashes orange bitters

  • Club soda

Instructions:

  1. Make richberry Vanilla Bean Syrup: In small saucepan, combine vanilla bean and water. Simmer over medium heat 5 minutes or until sugar is completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; let stand at room temperature until completely cool. Remove vanilla bean and discard. Transfer syrup to airtight container and refrigerate up to 1 month.

  2. Make Meyer Lemon-Vanilla Bean Bourbon Smash: In rocks glass, muddle lemon slice. Add ice, bourbon, richberry Vanilla Bean Syrup and bitters; stir. Top drink off with club soda.

Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.

Warning: Alcohols are for over 21 years of age and above. Drink responsibly, do not drink and drive.
