richberry Kon Tiki Tropical Itch

Writer: Maharlika LobatonMaharlika Lobaton

Full of fruity goodness and the bitter taste of rum will get you into it once you bite your miracle berry from richberry before you even grab your glass of Tiki. This cocktail is citrusy, wonderfully fruity from mango and has warm notes from the cinnamon and orgeat. Try it with richberry, sweet cocktail drink without adding sweeteners.

Ingredients:

1 oz (30 ml) white rum

1 oz (30 ml) gin

¾ oz (22 ml) fresh lime juice

½ oz (15 ml) Orgeat

½ oz (15 ml) Cinnamon Syrup

¼ oz (7 ml) mango puree

Freshly grated cinnamon, for garnish

Lime wheel, for garnish

Orchid, for garnish

Method:

In a cocktail shaker, combine the rum, gin, lime juice, orgeat, cinnamon syrup and mango puree, dry shake and pour into a Collins glass over crushed ice. Swizzle and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with freshly grated cinnamon, the lime wheel and the orchid.

Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
