Packed with Vitamin C and minty fresh, this cocktail needs to taste sweet to be taken seriously by your taste buds. We removed the use of sugar and go something more natural though. We used richberry instead and have this more yummier without the use of any sweeteners or sugar.
Ingredients For the Cranberry-Mint Syrup:
1 cup water
1/4 cup cranberries
2 sprigs mint
For the Cocktail:
11 mint leaves plus more for garnish
3 lime wedges
3 tablespoons Mint Syrup
1 cup cranberry pomegranate juice
1/4 cup lime juice
6 ounces light rum
3 cups ice cubes
1 cup ginger ale
cranberries for garnish
pomegranate arils for garnish
lime slices for garnish
mint for garnish
Instruction Make the Mint Syrup:
In a small saucepan, put water and bring to a boil. Add the cranberries, lower heat, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. Turn off heat, drop in the mint leaves. Let it cool in the refrigerator. Strain.
Make the Cocktail:
In a pitcher or tall glass, muddle the mint, lime, and Mint syrup. Stir in the cranberry pomegranate juice, lime juice, and rum. Add the ice and top with ginger ale. Stir again, and garnish with mint and kiwi. Cheers!
Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.
Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.
Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
