richberry Cranberry Limeade

Limeade is a lime flavoured drink, usually with sweetened with sugar. A typical method of preparation is to juice limes, and combine the juice with simple syrup or honey syrup, along with some additional water and perhaps more sugar or honey. Vodka or white tequila can be added to make limeade cocktail. But here at richberry, we like to experiment and mix things up so for our limeade, we put in some cranberry juice and opt-out of adding simple syrup for a healthier choice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4-8 limes, depending on how juicy they are)

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice

  • An additional 1 1/2 cups water

  • Ice

  • Simple syrup made with 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water

METHOD

Juice the limes: Add lime juice, cranberry juice, 1 1/2 cups of cold water, and a few ice cubes to a serving pitcher. Depending on when and how the limeade is to be served, and how strong you want it, you can add more ice and water. For example, if you want to serve it right away, add lots of ice. If it has had a chance to cool down and chill in the refrigerator but is still too strong, add a bit more water until the strength is to your preference. If the cranberry limeade flavour is too strong for your taste, add some more lime juice and water until you reach your desired flavour intensity.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before drinking, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

FACT: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness.
