Just have your richberry's miracle berry first before siping this strong flavoured cocktail. You will enjoy the taste since your tongue is coated with miracle berry's magical syrup.
Ingredients: For the Clementine Syrup:
4 clementines, peeled and segmented
1 cup water
For the Cocktail:
3 ounces Clementine Syrup
3 ounces whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Maraschino cherries, for garnish (optional)
3 ounces Gallo Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, for floating
Instructions:
Make Clementine Syrup: In medium saucepan, stir together clementines and water. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 5 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing on fruit to extract as much liquid as possible. Refrigerate until cool. Makes about 1-1/2 cups simple syrup.
Fill two rocks glasses with ice; add a few cherries to each glass, if desired. Fill cocktail shaker with ice; add Clementine Syrup, whiskey and lemon juice, and shake well.
Pour whiskey mixture over ice in glasses. Pour wine floater over top of cocktails by slowly pouring wine over a small spoon set over each glass.
Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.
Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.
Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
