richberry Chanticleer

Writer: Maharlika LobatonMaharlika Lobaton

Typically simple but smooth, fruity, citrusy delicious which is lovely to drink in spring, this is lovelier with richberry. The citrusy and bitter taste of Chanticleer with surprisingly change once you had your richberry before diving in to your glass. Kampai!

Ingredients:

2 oz (60 ml) gin

¾ oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice

5 raspberries, plus more for garnish

1 large egg white

Cocktail pick, for skewering raspberries

Method:

In the small side of your Boston cocktail shaker, combine the gin, lemon juice and 5 raspberries and muddle lightly (bruise, don’t abuse). Place your egg white in the larger side of your tin and dry shake (without ice) for about 10 seconds to emulsify the egg white. Fill your shaker with ice and vigorously shake again. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a few whole raspberries on a cocktail pick.

Mocktail (non-alcoholic): If you wish to have a delicious non-alcoholic version, please feel free to take the alcohol out and follow the same procedure.

Consume Miracle Berry: Just before digging in, chew 1 or more freeze-dried miracle berry (this can also be done during the preparation of ingredients). Ensure to remove pits to avoid a bitter taste.

Fact: The active ingredient miraculin from miracle berry will turn sour foods such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, non-fat yoghurt and other citrus food to taste sweet without adding sugar. We recommend two halves or 2 servings for maximum effectiveness. Make sure to follow instructions from the back of the packaging.
